Legal Requirements: DoD Instructions
A Department of Defense (DoD) Instruction is a DoD
issuance that implements the policy, or prescribes the manner or a specific plan or action for
carrying out the policy, operating a program or activity, and assigning responsibilities.
The DoD Instructions listed below are those that deal with
environmental issues. The majority of these Directives should have an impact on most Joint Service
facilities. Others will apply to military installations depending upon their mission, operations,
and locations.
